45. Propellerheads - Decksanddrumsandrockandroll

I do a lot of my listening at work, which means I am often editing video and audio.  Because of this, I have been gravitating toward a lot of electronic music lately, as the lack of lyrics makes me able to listen to it in the background while still editing.  That brought me, today, to Propellerheads.

I first became aware of Propellerheads (or so I thought) when Anjee, my wife, used "History Repeating" for a dance recital number.  I didn't really know anything else.  Then, as I searched Spotify, I noticed the Austin Powers and Matrix soundtracks and realized I had heard more.  This group is born for movie soundtracks.  In typical 90's electronic style, they use a lot of old blues and jazz with techno licks laid over it.  It's a great soundtrack to a work day.  Plus, I've always loved the lobby scene in The Matrix, so finding the music used for that was great.  It's really easy to see that Propellerheads and Fat Boy Slim were contemporaries.
