5. The Drums - Portamento

It seems my hot tub time machine was working superbly today as I checked out The Drums Portamento.  If I didn't know better, this album could have come out with a supporting tour with The Smiths or The Psychedelic Furs.  They definitely got the post punk revival thing down.  What's nice about it is that it is really true to the sound of the early eighties.  Unlike other post punk revival bands that try at the style but just come off as whiny hipsters, The Drums actually sound like Molly Ringwald could be dancing in her room to it.
