My goal for 2012 (starting a little late)

I made the realization today that I listen to the same thing all the time.  Many of the albums I listen to I've listened to since I was in high school.  Although I'm becoming a crotchety old man and tend to not like a whole lot of what I hear on the radio, I need to expand my knowledge of music, both contemporary and from years past.  I've heard a lot of music and have a pretty big music library, but I'm sure there are plenty of albums I haven't listened to.  Thus, the New Album a Day blog was born.

This isn't really a new concept.  There are tons of blogs of doing something new everyday, from taking pics, to doing something nice, to finding uses for a wedding dress.  This isn't to get notoriety.  This is for me. As I listen to new albums, I'll keep track of what I listen to and write a little bit about each new album I check out.  I'm by no means a writer and am really just using this site as a good way to keep track of what I'm listening to.  Don't expect long, in depth critiques of albums, but more of a few points about the album or a few tracks and a thumbs up or down. I'll be looking for suggestions as well.  Even if it's one of those albums that you can't believe hasn't been heard by everyone already, give me the suggestion.  I may have heard it already, but I'm sure there are tons of classic albums that haven't found their way to my ears yet for one reason or another.  I'm shooting for 366 new albums this year.  I'm starting 21 days late, so I'll have some catching up to do.  Hopefully this will be a success and make through the whole year and, by the end, I'll have some new favorites.
