7. Kimbra - Settle Down EP
This EP is great. It's a little poppy compared to what I would usually listen to, but Kimbra's voice is great. Similar to Amy Winehouse, her voice evokes visions of smoky jazz clubs. Not only is her voice beautiful, but her writing is also really good. It almost has a Bobby McFerrin quality to it (his good music, not "Don't Worry Be Happy""). I can also hear a little Bjork in the mix as well. Apparently "Settle Down" was a single in 2010, which shows how up I am on what the kids are listening to these days. The song plays with rhythm and harmony perfectly. This one is a keeper.
